A Walmart shopper managed to get their hands on two powerful gaming PCs for less than half their usual price after noticing something unusual on a store shelf.

The shopper spotted two CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme desktops marked down to just $1,099 each, despite the machines scanning at $2,329.

He got in a back-and-forth with Walmart.

Was it worth it?

The lucky gamer, who goes by u/joker497 on Reddit, shared their discovery with the r/pcmasterrace community.

They explained that they were visiting their local Walmart to pick up breakfast essentials when they decided to browse the electronics clearance section, as they usually do.

That’s when they spotted the two CyberPowerPC gaming desktops carrying surprisingly cheap $1,099 price tags.

However, scanning the shelf label revealed a very different price of $2,329, leaving the shopper stunned.

They flagged down an employee, who also scanned the tag before escalating the situation to several members of store management.

Initially, the team was only comfortable offering a 10 percent discount because of the difference between the shelf price and the scanned price.

But the shopper wasn’t ready to give up just yet.

”I was calm and persistent,” they explained in their Reddit post.

After asking the store coach to contact the store manager, who was working at a nearby sister location, things finally went their way.

The manager agreed to mark the computers down as clearance items, and because both machines shared the same product code, the decision applied to both.

The shopper ultimately walked away with two gaming PCs for $2,198 combined instead of the $4,658 they would have cost at the scanned price.

The CyberPowerPC gaming rigs come with some impressive specs

The deal becomes even more exciting when you look at what’s packed inside the CyberPowerPC Gamer Supreme desktops.

Each machine comes with an AMD Ryzen 9 9900X3D processor, paired with an Nvidia GeForce RTX 5070 graphics card featuring 12GB of video memory.

There’s also 32GB of DDR5 RAM and a 1TB PCIe 4.0 NVMe SSD, alongside a 360mm all-in-one liquid cooling system.

That combination makes for a seriously capable gaming setup, with the Ryzen 9 processor offering plenty of processing power and the RTX 5070 handling the graphics.

The estimated cost came to around $2,400, suggesting the shopper had secured two complete gaming desktops for less than the price of building one comparable machine.

The shopper has already decided what to do with the second PC

While getting one powerful gaming computer at half price would have been enough to make most shoppers happy, this Redditor had an even better plan.

They revealed that one of the computers was for themselves, while the second was intended as a Christmas present for their younger brother.

“Edit one will be for my little brother for Christmas he just doesn’t know it yet lol,” they wrote.

The shopper also made it clear they weren’t planning to sell the computers for a profit, explaining that they intended to keep their own machine, although they might experiment with swapping GPUs around.

They even shared some advice for anyone who comes across a similar pricing mistake.

“Be nice be calm and most importantly be persistent,” they advised.

Unfortunately, anyone hoping to repeat the bargain might have a harder time tracking it down.

The shopper didn’t reveal which Walmart location they visited, meaning there’s no way of knowing whether other stores have the same price tags.

Still, with gaming PC components becoming increasingly expensive, this shopper certainly managed to find one seriously impressive bargain.
